EVENT OVERVIEW

As the voluntary carbon market continues to evolve, so does the legal, financial and technological infrastructure supporting it. Following our last conversation, “Law and Carbon Order: Carbon as an Asset and the Digital Evolution of the VCM,” our next interactive, in-person panel brings the dialogue to Climate Week NYC.

Faegre Drinker’s Deanna Reitman will join Antonia Drummond, AlliedOffsets’ head of product, and Anthony Stevens, Northern Trust’s head of innovation for digital assets and financial markets, on an experienced panel that explores how carbon credits are being digitized, tokenized and recorded. They’ll explore how sustainable assets can be physically settled as commodities while also being classified as financial assets for collateralization, and the legal nature and regulatory frameworks shaping these innovations to foster greater market participation and liquidity.

The discussion will be supported by data-driven forecasting insights and policy analysis from AlliedOffsets. These insights will help frame how legal and financial stakeholders, including Northern Trust and Faegre Drinker, are approaching custody, regulation, infrastructure, trust, and legal, regulatory and market risk in the carbon market.
